Summer is here and we are all excited about it for sure!
But did you know the temperature outside has a large effect on how your elevator works?
It’s true, believe it or not.
Elevator rooms tend to get warm when it is warmer outside. They operate best between the temperatures of 60 and 90 degrees. Anything warmer or colder than that can cause it to have some difficulty operating – and may possibly result in equipment failures.
An elevator machine room that is too hot can cause hazards such as overheating, resulting in loss of equipment reliability and requiring frequent repairs. This can lead you to having to call the elevator repair service more times than you would like.
Additionally, it causes problems for you and your tenants or customers that rely on the elevator to help make their lives easier.
In order to prevent your elevator room from overheating or reaching temperatures that exceed 90 degrees, you should make sure you have a dedicated cooling system for the equipment to avoid running into these problems.
A portable air conditioner can also help keep things cool while the rising summer heat can alter the temperatures of the machine room and elevator. This is very important in the productivity of your elevator, so make sure you are keeping up on your elevator’s temperature.
